Construction of the Vantaa light rail bridge over Tuusulanväylä begins this Autumn

News

As part of the construction of the Vantaa light rail, a new bridge, Annefredinsilta, will be built next to the existing bridge crossing Tuusulanväylä. The new bridge will be dedicated exclusively to light rail traffic. Construction work will begin this Autumn and will affect traffic arrangements in the area on both Tikkurilantie and Tuusulanväylä. In November, traffic on Tikkurilantie across the bridge over Tuusulanväylä will be diverted to an alternative route for approximately one year. We will provide more detailed information about the arrangements closer to their implementation.

Traffic on Tuusulanväylä will remain on two lanes in each direction

As part of the construction works, the speed limit on Tuusulanväylä will be reduced to 50 km/h and the number of lanes will be decreased. In general, two lanes in each direction will remain available throughout all construction phases. Only during nighttime may there be short-term exceptions to the number of available lanes. The location of the lanes may change as the work progresses.

Traffic on the Tikkurilantie bridge will be diverted

Traffic on Tikkurilantie across the bridge over Tuusulanväylä will continue until late Autumn. In November, traffic between Manttaalitie and Kuriirikuja will be diverted to an alternative route. Along the closed section, Tikkurilantie can still be crossed in the North-South directions at several locations. We will provide more detailed information about traffic arrangements on Tikkurilantie closer to their implementation.

HSL will provide information about public transport changes

The bus lanes on Tuusulanväylä near the construction site will be removed for the duration of the works, and bus stops will be relocated. HSL will communicate all changes to public transport services separately.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
