Political strikes by several trade unions will affect services in the City of Vantaa in January-February 2024. SuPer and Tehy have announced strikes from 13.2.-14.2. in protest against the government's actions. At that time, most of Vantaa's day-care centres will be closed and pre-school education

Finnish Committee for UNICEF grants the City of Vantaa the Child Friendly Cities recognition. “In two years, Vantaa has succeeded in making permanent changes in the city’s operations, as well as significant changes for children and the young,” UNICEF acknowledges.
