Introduction
…ther trees. The terrain of the rocky area is fragmented, made of quartz and feldspar gneiss. Low rock walls and plateau structures have formed at the places where the bedrock has broken down, bringing beautiful variety to the landscape. In many places, the edge of the rock has broken down into boulders.
The Blåbärkärrsbergen nature conservation area is part of the more extensive Tolkki forest. Even large animals, such as moose and white-tailed deer, move around in the area, but the most visible and audible animals in the Blåbärkärrsbergen nature conservation area are birds. Some species nesting in the area include the common blackbird, song thrush, tree pipit, wood warbler and European pied flycatcher. Also the distinctive call of a cuckoo can be heard often. In addition to frogs, reptiles also seem to enjoy the area, and visitors to Blåbärkärrsbergen can encounter a viviparous lizard or even a common European adder.
The Blåbärkärrsbergen area became protected in 2002, and its size is 13.8 hectares.
Well-maintained pathways crisscross the conservation area.
