Traces on Paths exhibition at Gallery K suggests perspectives on urban nature
Gallery K's spring exhibition, Traces on Paths leads you to explore the city and its nature from the perspectives of observation, dreaming, and multispecies. The exhibition (February 28 - April 27, 2025) is curated from the art collection of Vantaa Art Museum Artsi.
The picture shows Anne-Maria Björninen's artwork Lintusia.
The works in the exhibition invite one to reflect on how nature intertwines with the city and multispecies existence. Multispecies coexistence refers to the parallel existence, interaction, and interdependence of different species.
The exhibition explores the theme through both abstract and figurative art. Many of the works depict nature through expressive and atmospheric imagery, leaving room for the viewer's experience and interpretation. The exhibition suggests perspectives not only on the artworks but also on examining one's own living environment: what kind of life and natural phenomena can be observed in one's own city besides human inhabitants?
The exhibition consists of paintings, graphics, sculptures, and ceramic art, belonging to Vantaa Art Museum’s collections.
The exhibition includes works by the following artists:
Anne-Maria Björninen, Pirkko Holm, Heli Huotala, Rozalia Janovic, Tiina Kivinen, Markku Laitakari, Kaari Martikainen-Whale, Francesca Mascitti-Lindh, Pirkko Nukari, Maaria Oikarinen, Katri Paunu, Kyösti Pärkinen, Osmo Rauhala, Hannu Sillanpää, Risto Suomi, Soili Talja.
