The City Executive Board approved the Muura comprehensive school project plan – new daycare center in Vaarala, small houses in Martinlaakso and Varisto

Muura’s comprehensive school, sports hall and daycare center are necessary to meet the need for services resulting from the Aviapolis major region’s population growth, the increase in English-language instruction and early childhood education, and students’ need for extensive special support. The target price of the project is 62.47 million euros. Construction will take place in 2027–2028, and the school will be taken into use in January 2029.

In addition, the City Executive Board decided to submit for the City Council’s approval the alterations to the local detailed plans of the Talkootie daycare center in Vaarala, Vihertie in Martinlaakso and Ulkoniitty in Varisto.

The plan alteration for the Talkootie daycare center in Vaarala enables the realization of a new daycare center in the Hakunila major region. The plan will especially account for coziness and the quality of the neighborhood. The plan alteration is in preparation for a daycare building with about 2,000 square meters of floor area as well as a yard area. When realized, the daycare center will meet the need created by the increase in children of early childhood education age in the Hakunila major region.

The plan alteration for Vihertie in Martinlaakso enables the construction of diverse residential blocks. In the residential area, the same block combines both small houses and apartment houses in a green and comfortable environment.

With the plan alteration for Ulkoniitty in Varisto, small-house lots are being planned for the local master plan’s infill development area and a part of the Ulkoniitty park is being converted into an area for blocks of small houses. Six of the city’s leased lots are being redivided and formed into new lots.
