Information about living in Vantaa

Do you find city services confusing, do you need help as regards e-Services? Don't worry, we will help you! We are happy to tell you about the city's services, language courses and leisure activities. You can call us, send us an email or come and visit, we will guide you to the right place!

If you’ve only recently moved to Finland and to Vantaa, you may be entitled to an initial assessment. The assessment will help you find suitable services and cope with everyday life in your new country.

Advice for immigrants

Hygiene instructions for those transacting at Vantaa Infos and participating in counseling/events:

  • Be sure to come to Vantaa Info only if you are fully healthy.
  • Observe safety distances when queueing and during counseling/transacting.
  • We recommend using a face mask or protective visor to the extent possible, if you stay on the premises for more than 15 minutes.
  • Use the hand disinfectant provided. You will find hand disinfectants on Vantaa Info premises, near the entrance, at the desks and near the green sofas at Tikkurila and Myyrmäki Vantaa Infos.
  • These instructions will be applied to Vantaa Info's events.

Free-of-charge legal counseling

Free-of-charge legal counseling is provided at the Myyrmäki House once a month from 17:00 to 20:00. Advance enrollments to the janitor of the Myyrmäki House, tel. 0400 438 521. Advance appointment is required.

Legal services continue in fall 2020 as follows:

  • Thurs., October 8, 2020, at 17:00-20:00 (Myyrmäkitalo, 2nd floor, Tapahtumahuone)
  • Thurs., November 12, 2020, at 17:00-20:00 (Myyrmäkitalo, 3rd floor, Kerhotila)
  • Thurs., December 10, 2020, at 17:00-20:00 (Myyrmäkitalo, 3rd floor, Kerhotila)

Be sure to come only if you are fully healthy. Observe hand hygiene, especially in bathroom premises and before entering the premises. Remember to keep a sufficient safety distance during the counseling.

Digital information for residents

Do you need help with acquiring a new device? Are you interested in social media? Do you want tips on how to use your smartphone? The city’s own Cloud Agents will counsel about using devices and e-Services at Myyrmäki Vantaa Info (The Myyrmäki House, Paalutori 3, 1st floor) on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 15:00 and at Tikkurila Vantaa Info (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor) on Thursdays from 12:30 to 15:00.

Help with information search and e-Services

Do you need help when you are looking for information on the city's or other authorities’ websites? Would you like to get some help with the city’s or our partners’ e-Services? Come to Vantaa Info, we will help you in Finnish and English.

Citizens’ digital skills instruction

Do you have questions about a computer, laptop or smartphone? IT instruction events arranged by Vantaa Adult Education Institute have started at Tikkurila Vantaa Info. You will also be instructed in using, for instance, social media, email and e-Services. The instruction will be in Finnish or English. No appointment needed. Free of charge, no appointment required.

Instruction starts September 4, at Tikkurila Vantaa info, on Fridays from 12:30 to 15.

You can bring your own device (phone, laptop or computer) or use Vantaa Info's computers. The instruction is part of the Digiarki project, financed by the Finnish National Board of Education (FNBE).

Tourist information and leisure tips

Are you looking for brochures, maps, information on events or attractions? Tourist information serves you at Myyrmäki (Myyrmäkitalo, Paalutori 3) and Tikkurila (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor) Vantaa Infos.

We will give you lots of information on Vantaa's and its neighbors' attractions and events, and we have brochures on cultural activities, sports and hobbies. Likewise, we will tell you about organizations operating in Vantaa as well as about forms of volunteer activities.

Support from Youth Shelter

Counseling for seniors and senior’s information corner

Do you have any questions for Senior Clinic? Come and talk with an elderly work professional about your situation or about the situation of someone you care about.

Senior Clinic is available on Tuesdays from 14:00 to 16:00 at Tikkurila Vantaa Info (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor) and on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 16:00 at Myyrmäki Vantaa Info (The Myyrmäki House, Paalutori 3).

Senior’s information corner has topical brochures on leisure activities and city services, as well as on organizations and businesses offering social services.

Digital support

Vantaa Infos’ personal digital support has been canceled until further notice because of the coronavirus situation. You can still use the computers on your own.

Vantaa Info will help you with online transacting, scanning, and use of the Internet. We can together seek information online or get to know the city’s and state’s online services. We offer help with using the Internet at Myyrmäki Vantaa Info (Myyrmäkitalo, Paalutori 3, 1st floor) and at Tikkurila Vantaa Info (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor).

Counseling by the customer guidance unit for the disabled

An expert from the customer guidance unit for the disabled at Services for the Disabled counsels and gives tips on how to use services. The expert is available on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 15:00 at Tikkurila Vantaa Info (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor) and on Fridays from 13:00 to 15:00 at Myyrmäki Vantaa Info (Myyrmäkitalo, The Myyrmäki House, Paalutori 3).

Information for entrepreneurs

Are you interested in becoming an entrepreneur or are you just looking for general information about entrepreneurship? Myyrmäki (The Myyrmäki House, Paalutori 3,1st floor) and Tikkurila (Dixi, Ratatie 11, 2nd floor) Vantaa Infos offer general information about entrepreneurship.
