Application for time slots in recreational facilities starts on 1 February 2025 – most indoor sports facilities are now applied for for two seasons at a time

The application period for time slots in the City of Vantaa’s recreational facilities runs from 1 to 28 February 2025. This year, for the first time, the indoor sports facilities of the sports services and schools are applied for for a term of two seasons. Below you can find more information on the lengths of the seasons for the facilities available.

Regular time slots for a single season (2025–2026)

The application for time slots in the facilities below will remain unchanged. You can therefore apply for a time slot in these facilities for one season at a time.

• Community centres (1 August 2025–31 July 2026)
• Youth centres (season 1 September 2025–31 May 2026)
• Children’s cultural centres (1 September 2025–31 May 2026) 
• Multi-purpose spaces and Mosaiikkisali of the Mosaiikki Urban Culture Centre (season 1 August 2025–31 July 2026)
• Non-sports facilities in schools, educational institutions and day care centres (applications for the summer and for the season 2 June 2025–31 May 2026)

Regular time slots for two seasons (2025–2027)

Time slots in the indoor sports facilities of the City of Vantaa’s sports services are granted for two seasons at a time.

These facilities include the gymnasiums of schools, educational institutions and day care centres, swimming halls and sports centres, rock shelters, the Koivukylä senior centre, the Rajakylä tennis centre, Energia Areena and sports facilities of the multi-purpose centre Lumo.

With the reform of the time slot application, the Sports Service Area aims to better respond to the wishes of sports clubs. The longer-term allocation of time slots will make it easier for clubs to plan and anticipate their activities.

The change will not apply to summer time slots, which will continue to be applied for for one summer at a time. Please note that the change will also not apply to the time slots in ice rinks and football halls. Applications for time slots in these facilities will be made as before.

In addition, there will continue to be an annual event application for the indoor sports facilities. In February, you can apply for facilities for events taking place between 11 August 2025 and 31 May 2026.

Recreational facilities can be applied for by individuals, associations and organisations. Applications are made through the Timmi reservation system.

Please apply in good time as late applications will not be processed.
