The liveliest family day of the summer takes over Backas on July 1 – Free music, dance, and carnival fun
The Backaksen Kesäkeikat (“Backas Summer Gigs”) stage will be filled with children’s joy and carnival atmosphere on Tuesday, July 1, from 10:00 to 12:00, as a free-of-charge festival day for the entire family takes over the area. The day will feature energetic program, music, dance, and activities for participants of all ages.
The multicultural Trio Mandeng—whose music combines stories, rhythms, and tones of various cultures—will kick-start the program. The members of the band come from Guinea, Mali, and Finland, and their performance will take the entire family on an engaging musical journey.
Meanwhile, Raka Babaner will be responsible for the most colorful musical adventure of the day. The band combines themes from children’s everyday lives with West African rhythms, dance, and play in a way that delights both kids and adults.
Pomppulinnan kreivi’s gigs, on the other hand, entice you to dance and jump to your heart's content. The band’s energetic children’s music draws inspiration from various cultures and rhythms—music that invites people of all ages to move and celebrate.
The event will be hosted by Skidit Disco, bringing its familiar party atmosphere with great songs, games, and partying for the whole family. Also joining the event are playful characters, as well as MC Aino.
In addition to the stage program, you will find plenty of free and paid activities for the whole family, as well as Backas Manor’s food services.
The Family Day is part of Restaurant Backas’ Summer Gigs event series, as well as the City of Vantaa’s summer program for children and the young. You will find a more detailed program and schedules on the City of Vantaa’s event calendar.
