Noisy work phases planned on the median strip of Porvoonväylä at Länsimäentie and in the Maratontie area in July–August

During June, the overtaking lanes on Porvoonväylä will be converted into a work site area, and traffic will be redirected to run with two lanes in each direction past the bridge work zone. However, during construction work over Porvoonväylä, the lane where work is being carried out must be closed. In this case, traffic will pass using one lane in each direction. The overpass construction work will last approximately two weeks in total.

In addition, at the Länsimäentie bridge on Porvoonväylä, rock will be excavated in the central median area. According to current estimates, blasting work will take place around the turn of June and July. The total duration of the work is at most two weeks, during which particularly noisy blasting will not be carried out continuously. Efforts will be made to carry out noisy work on weekdays outside peak hours between 7:00 and 18:00, but if necessary, blasting will continue until 21:00. For safety reasons, traffic in the area will need to be temporarily stopped from time to time in all directions, including all directions on Porvoonväylä.

Near the roundabout at Maratontie, sheet piling (soil-supporting structures) will be installed in August. The work is related to the construction of the new bridge and a new underpass. According to current estimates, installation work will begin in early August and be completed by the end of August. The number of working days is preliminarily estimated to be about ten, and these do not necessarily occur on consecutive days. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays between 7:00 and 18:00, but noise will not be continuous throughout this entire period.
