Ground stabilization work causing significant noise will begin in June at the southern end of Hakunilantie

Information about the work

Stabilization strengthens the existing subsoil so that it can better withstand loads and prevent settlement. The work will be carried out as column stabilization, where a binding agent (such as cement or lime) is added to the ground and the soil is mixed mechanically.

The work will proceed in phases, area by area. It will begin in the section between Talkootie and Lähdepuistontie in Vaarala, after which it will move to the southern work area. The northern section will be carried out last.

Stabilization work that causes significant noise will be carried out on weekdays between 7:00 and 18:00.

The approximate location of the stabilization work and the temporary traffic arrangements are shown on the attached map.

The work will not cause vibrations, but the situation will be monitored throughout the entire work phase.

We advise those moving in the area to allow more time than usual for travel. If particularly disturbing indoor noise occurs in nearby properties, you can send a message to ratikka@vantaa.fi, and we will provide hearing protection if necessary.

Impact on traffic

As part of the traffic arrangements, the bus stop on Vaaralantie will be relocated to a temporary location on 29.6. More detailed information about the stop arrangements can be found on HSL’s website: https://www.hsl.fi/hsl/uutiset

Pedestrian and cycling routes will be redirected to detours with clear signage and traffic signs. The routes can be found in the City of Vantaa’s map service and are also marked on the attached map. The map also shows the locations of the new and removed bus stops.
