Gas Pipeline Construction Begins on Käärmekalliontie in Week 31
Käärmekalliontie will undergo construction of a new gas pipeline starting in week 31. The work is scheduled to take place during the shutdown period of the incineration plant, which means that, exceptionally, some work will also be carried out during the evenings and on weekends over the coming weeks.
A new gas pipeline will be constructed on Käärmekalliontie from 27 July 2026 as part of the Vantaa Light Rail project. The work mainly involves standard excavation using excavators and will generate only a limited amount of noise.
The construction of the gas pipeline is scheduled to take place during the three-week shutdown period of the incineration plant. For this reason, work will be carried out on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on three consecutive weekends between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Evening and weekend work is necessary to ensure the project stays on schedule, but efforts will be made to minimize the need for such work through efficient working methods.
Below is an illustrative map showing the approximate location of the construction work.
We apologize for any inconvenience the work may cause and thank you for your patience.
