Eco-School is a sustainable development programme for day care centres, schools and educational institutes as well as providers of youth recreational activities. An Eco-School certificate is granted to participants as a proof of their continued development of more sustainable operations.
The key principles of Eco-School operations are: participation: children and young people as designers, implementers and evaluations of operations; sustainable development education as part of daily life; reducing the participant’s environmental burden; continuous development and cooperation with the surrounding society.
