In Vantaa’s Government Programme objectives, love for the home region is intertwined with growth, competence, the future and connections in the hands of real and genuine people. Only by voting can you influence what the future will be like, with or without artificial intelligence.

The campaign aims to get Vantaa residents to vote in large numbers, as voter turnout in the previous elections has been exceptionally low. We want to highlight Vantaa’s Government Programme objectives – things that are important from the perspective of the future and success.

Cooperation at the core of the Government Programme objectives

The City of Vantaa published its Government Programme objectives on 15 November 2022. They include key issues for the success of Vantaa and Finland as a whole, and we hope that they will be promoted in Parliament. We also believe in the power of cooperation, which is why we have drawn up joint objectives together with the cities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland’s six largest cities and 21 largest cities.

During the election spring, we will seek to actively promote these objectives in public debate and to send a message about them to all those who will be able to influence the forthcoming nationwide Government Programme. We want the significance of large growing cities to be reflected in the parliamentary elections, and we want our message to reach national politics as well.

Who do you want to be in charge of your affairs?

Your vote matters. By voting, you can influence who or what party will take matters important to you forward in Parliament.

Vantaa’s election campaign is illustrated with “fake” characters created with artificial intelligence (AI). They may seem quite realistic at first glance, but when you look at them more closely, you will start noticing some surprisingly funny and strange details. The images have been created by AI with the assistance of photographer and digital artist Antti Karppinen. AI has been a topic of discussion for a long time, even arousing suspicion. AI is not about to replace real people – there is a place for real people, especially in Parliament.

The characters used in this election campaign would certainly have a lot to offer us real people, but they are not necessarily the best ones to act as your voice.

Vantaa’s Government Programme objectives in a nutshell

We need:

  • new forms of cooperation and secure funding for growth
  • education and employment to improve equality, especially in areas with a risk of increasing inequality
  • rail connections for a sustainable social structure
  • air transport to ensure Finland’s accessibility and international connections (Avia network’s objectives).

Large cities are tasked with providing solutions for these challenges. For this, we need support from the Government.
