Residents have the opportunity to participate in various dance, film and theatre activities in Vantaa.

Cinema

Vantaa has three movie theatres: Bio Grand in Tikkurila, Rekolan Kino in Rekola and Kino Myyri in Myyrmäki. Other film-related activities include popular matinée events, outdoor cinema picnics and drive-in cinema events. On special occasions, films are also shown at Lumosali in Korso and Kulttuuritalo Martinus. See the Vantaa event calendar for more information.

Dance

Dance Week opens the door to the world of dance! In April, the city is taken over by dazzling dance performances and events for all ages.

Mamia Company is a contemporary dance theatre creating performances for both adults and children.

Raatikko is one of the oldest dance theatres in Finland. They combine theatre, dance, music and circus in their performances. The majority of their shows are aimed at children. Dance Theatre Raatikko is located in Tikkurila.

Vantaa Dance Academy not only offers basic education in the arts, but also puts on public dance performances.

Theatre

Several theatres operate in Vantaa. You can find their current programme on each theatre’s own website.

Teatteri Vantaa is a professional theatre operating in the atmospheric Silkkisali venue in Tikkurila.

Tikkurilan Teatteri is an amateur theatre operating in cultural centre Vernissa. The theatre also features a theatre school and circus school, which provide basic education in the arts.

Vantaan Näyttämö is an amateur theatre that is active all year round, also in summer. Vantaan Näyttämö operates in the premises on Teatteri Navethalia in Jokiniemi.
