For many Vantaa residents, the light rail will mean smoother mobility in everyday life in the future. But that’s not all – an entire light rail city will be built around the light rail.
Construction of the light rail in Tikkurila Center and Jokiniemi
Follow the progress of light rail construction between Kielotie, Tikkurila Station and Jokiniemenkatu. In the future, the light rail will travel to Tikkurila Station through the new underground light rail station.
Construction of the light rail on Tikkurilantie
Follow the progress of light rail construction between Veromies and Tikkurila. In the future, the light rail will run along Tikkurilantie, passing through the Annefred, Koivuhaka and Viertola.
Blasting works will begin in Kirjastopuisto
Blasting works for the Vantaa Light Rail will begin in Kirjastopuisto next week. The estimated duration of the works is 23.2–30.04. Some stages of the work will cause noise.
Vanha Porvoontie will reopen to traffic on 23 February 2026 – changes to traffic arrangements at the intersection of Sammaltie and Kyytitie

Vanha Porvoontie will have to be closed to car traffic between Kyytitie and Kokkokalliontie for the period 19 January–6 February 2026. During the closure, bus and car traffic will be directed to use Kyytitie and Kanervatie.
