City's services came to the residents of Kivistö
Residents have it easy to find their way to Kivistö center's new services in Kivis, the Colosseum city block, and the other brick and mortar stores.
After a long wait, Kivis shopping mall opened in Kivistö, providing not only stores but also a health center and Mosaiikki urban culture center.
“Kivis is unique in Vantaa, since this is the first time in Vantaa when the city’s and the wellbeing services county's services are located in a shopping mall. The city has gone where the residents hang out,” says Gilbert Koskela, project manager in charge of the Kivistö major region.
At the end of the year, Kivistö’s new bus terminal—which will improve public transport connections and travel comfort—will be completed.
Mosaiikki — meeting place for Kivistö residents
Mosaiikki urban culture center offers more extensive services than before as regards the library and the youth center. The last premises—such as Digikoppi and Värkkäämö—will be opened during the latter part of 2023.
Mosaiikki will also have multi-facility premises meant for arranging events, and residents can reserve these premises as of the beginning of 2024.

Community events in the growing Colosseum city block
The last tower building is currently being built in the Colosseum city block. It will consist of apartments, and its lower stories will house business premises, for example, K-Citymarket. The buildings in Colosseum will be surrounded by Topaasiaukio, ideally suited for arranging market square events.
“I hope that residents love living in Kivistö and that they will create a unique urban culture there,” Koskela says.
Village festivities and other small-scale events have also been arranged in Safiiriaukio.
