Vantaa light rail works are progressing in Tikkurila. The works will also have a minor impact on the park-and-ride facility on the Jokiniemi side. The park-and-ride can continue to be used as normal, but its location will shift slightly from 11 May. The new location is shown on the map.
The number of park-and-ride spaces will increase by a few spaces. In addition, several short-term parking spaces for drop-off traffic will be added. The ticket machine will remain in its current location. Access to the park-and-ride will remain unchanged, but the distance to the station will increase by approximately 30 metres.
The change to the park-and-ride is related to maintenance works on the main railway line. The map marks in red the location where a temporary ballast loading area will be established. Noise barriers are also planned around the area, as ballast loading will cause some intermittent noise.
