Work phases causing significant noise will begin on Kyytitie from May 2026
Construction of the Vantaa tramway is progressing, and in May, work phases causing significant noise will begin in new areas along Kyytitie. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
At the western end of Kyytitie, west of Tukkukaupankuja, isolated rock areas may be encountered that require blasting and rock breaking. If such areas are found, the work may cause temporary noise and vibration in the area. Ground reinforcement and water infrastructure works are being carried out. The work is ongoing and is expected to continue until the end of June 2026. During this period, noisy work will be carried out for approximately 40 working days, on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
From Kanervantie towards Old Porvoo Road, near Keskos warehouse, foundations for the future track are being built and gas pipelines are being relocated. Previously conducted blasting work causing significant noise will continue at the end of April, as additional rock areas have been discovered. Blasting causing significant noise will begin in the last week of April and continue until the end of June. Noisy work will be carried out for approximately 40 working days, on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
Between Old Porvoo Road and Porttisuontie, a permanent sheet pile wall is being constructed near Salpakuja. Work will begin with impact drilling in June, followed by construction of the sheet pile wall. This will cause significant noise in the area for approximately one month. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
From Porttisuontie towards Pitkäsentie, gas pipeline construction continues, requiring rock blasting. Excavation for the gas pipeline will also continue towards Käärmekalliontie, and if bedrock is encountered, blasting may also be required there. Work causing significant noise will begin in early May and last approximately one month. After blasting, normal construction work will continue, such as surface works. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
Between Pitkäsentie and Lahdentie, water infrastructure construction requiring soil stabilization is underway. Stabilization does not cause significant noise. However, small amounts of rock may be present near Pitkäsentie, and if encountered, blasting may cause temporary noise and vibration on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
Near Lahdentie, water infrastructure works passing under Kyytitie will be carried out in June, with an estimated duration of about two months. Drilling and piling work for the new bridge over Lahdentie will begin in October 2026. These works will cause significant noise and vibration. Piling is expected to last approximately two months, during which noisy work will be carried out for about 20 working days, on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.
If the noise is particularly disturbing indoors in nearby properties, hearing protection can be collected from a mailbox located north of Porttipuisto, marked with the Vantaa tramway logo.
