The City Council ratified the local detailed plans for Myyrmäki Urban Culture House and three new daycare centers

Release

In its meeting on October 20, Vantaa City Council approved the alterations to the local detailed plans of the Myyrmäki Urban Culture House and the planned Migri detention center in Itä-Hakkila. The alterations to the local detailed plans of Lounaniitty and Myyrmäki daycare centers in Vantaanlaakso were approved after a vote. In addition, the meeting approved the alteration to the local detailed plan of Vaarala daycare center.

The alteration to the local detailed plan of Myyrmäki Urban Culture House will enable the construction of the new urban culture house in Myyrmäki, that is, Elämystentalo. The local detailed plan explores both the renovation and possible expansion of the Myyrmäki House operating at the property, as well as the demolition of the existing building and construction of a new urban culture house.

The alteration to the local detailed plan of Itä-Hakkila will enable the construction of a Migri detention unit in the area. The new unit will create 60–90 places for customers and 40–60 jobs. Voluntary ecological compensation will also be agreed on in connection with the plan.

New daycare centers in Vantaanlaakso, Vaarala, and Myyrmäki

A new daycare center lot is needed in Vantaanlaakso, as the current daycare center is too small and is located in the flight and road noise impact area near Hämeenlinnanväylä. The alteration to the local detailed plan turns some of Lounaniitty’s areas for local outdoor recreation and allotment gardens into a block for public buildings, some into a block for small houses and some into street areas.

The plan alteration of Talkootie, Vaarala, enables the realization of a new daycare center. The plan will especially account for coziness and the quality of the neighborhood. The new daycare center will meet the need created by the increase in children of early childhood education age in the Hakunila major region.

The daycare center lot in Louhela, Myyrmäki, on Eräkuja 3, will be extended to the north in such a way that it will fit a daycare center for 8 groups, later for 10 groups once expanded. The older daycare center currently located in the area will be preserved, and the newer relocatable wooden daycare center will be moved from the lot.
