New apartments in Hämevaara and Myyrmäki, as well as new jobs in Vehkala

The city executive board submitted the alteration to the local detailed plan for Vaakapuisto in Hämevaara for the city council’s approval. In addition, the city executive board placed the alterations to the local detailed plans for Kuohukuja in Myyrmäki, Myllymäki in Vehkala, and Nikinmäki junction region for public inspection.

Hämevaara’s western and eastern Vaakapuisto currently act as protected green areas against Rajatorpantie. Two colorful, two-story townhouse-type row houses are planned for the areas. The key area of the flying squirrel residing in the park will turn into a protected green area.

The alteration to the local detailed plan for Kuohukuja in Myyrmäki consists of protecting the eastern part of Kuohukuja shopping center, as well as building a new 8-story residential and business building on Kuohukuja 1.

The alteration to the local detailed plan for Vehkalan kinkerit makes it possible to expand the efficient, versatile, and public-transport-oriented Vehkala to the east in accordance with the current local master plan. The plan consists of four blocks designated as workplace construction, as well as a local recreation area, a park, and street areas.

The local detailed plan for Nikinmäki junction region is the first local detailed plan for the former Sipoo area that was annexed to Vantaa on January 1, 2018. The local master plan entails changing the border of the district. The area is situated in Nikinmäki on the Sipoo border.
