The guarantee decision will next proceed to the City Council for approval.
Summer job vouchers and summer entrepreneurship continue in 2026
Vantaa will continue to offer summer job vouchers and a summer entrepreneurship programme to young residents. The aim is to support youth employment and entrepreneurial trials and to make it easier to find first summer jobs.
This year, young Vantaa residents born between 2008 and 2011 can apply for the city’s summer job voucher. There is no upper limit on the number of vouchers.
The voucher is applied for electronically on the City of Vantaa’s website. Information about the application will also be provided via Wilma.
The target group includes approximately 8,400 young people. The value of the voucher is €300, and it is intended to promote the employment of young people in Vantaa.
In addition, the city will continue to offer entrepreneurship courses and trials for young people as an alternative to the summer job voucher. A total of €450,000 has been allocated for the vouchers, with the aim of enabling around 400 summer jobs.
Zoning changes at the airport for tram construction
The zoning amendment for the airport area will extend the current street area of Aviakuja to Turbine Road and designate street space for a new turning area for bus traffic next to Turbine Road by converting airport and nearby recreational areas into street areas.
The zoning amendment for Aviaboulevard and Turbine Road will widen the street area along Aviaboulevard and designate new street areas for Turbine Road and Tietotie. The change prepares for the construction of the Vantaa tram by reserving sufficient space for the infrastructure required by the tram and for an improved street environment.
The zoning plan allocates space for the tram and related functions such as motor traffic, cycling and walking, green areas, plantings and stormwater solutions by enlarging street areas and reducing other areas.
