The Day-care Centres on the Move programme helps day-care centres ensure that their children have enough opportunities to be physically active every day.
Family Day Care
Family day care is intended for under school aged children and it takes place in small groups in a home-like, easygoing environment. Family day care takes place in the childminder's home, in the child's home or in a specially designed group family day care center.
Health protection control
Environmental Health Services are responsible for the quality control of drinking and bathing water as well as monitoring health matters related to housing and indoor air. Control activities are also carried out, for example, in schools and day care centres, nursing homes and public sports
Day and holiday activities for disabled children
Day activities for children with intellectual disabilities are offered at all schools providing education for disabled children.
Residential Parks
Residential parks provide guided outdoor and indoor activities. Residential parks are meant for children of all ages and their guardians.
Open meeting places for families with children
A meeting place is a, easy and relaxed 'living room' for all families with children. At the meeting place, you can speak with the workers of the City of Vantaa's wide range of services for families with children, representatives of various organisations and volunteers.
Food control
The Environment Centre of Vantaa controls the safety and health-related quality of food as well as compliance with food regulations.
Private Family Day Care
Private family day care is supervised by the local authorities. Family day care takes place in a home-like environment at the private childminder's home.
Group Family Day Care
In group family day care, one group can have 8-12 children. The premises are approved by the municipality, and there need to be 2-3 childminders depending on how many children are in the group.
