General Information
We place the students in classes according to the child’s year of birth.
Children who turn 7 in the calendar year will start first grade in August. If the child turns seven in 2023, he/she will start school in August 2023.
Primarily we accept applicants who live in Vantaa. Applicants from other municipalities may be accepted after Vantaa children, should there be spaces in the existing learning groups.
We have a maximum number of students per grade level. This decision has been made by the Vantaa Education Committee and therefore we cannot exceed this maximum number.
We follow the Finnish curriculum and the language of instruction is English. The students also study Finnish starting from 1st grade and from 6th grade onwards they also study Swedish. We teach Finnish as a mother tongue as well as Finnish as a second language
The classes are filled according to the results of the entrance exam, giving priority to applicants from Vantaa. Should there not be enough spaces, those who have the same amount of points are selected with an official draw.
