Vantaa's schools employ youth workers who act as safe adults in everyday school life. The aim of the service is to support the overall well-being and learning of young people.
In addition, Vantaa has two youth workers who provide individual support during the transition phase from comprehensive school and upper secondary school.
Youth workers support young people in achieving their learning goals, but also provide casual counselling on issues that concern them. These youth workers are well equ…ipped to direct young people to the necessary services if other services are needed in addition to the standard tools of youth work. Comprehensive school pupils can meet youth workers in school corridors, during recess and in classrooms.
