Kuusijärvi saunas
Introduction
Smoke saunas
Kuusijärvi is the only place in Finland and the world where three public traditional smoke saunas are open for everyone every day of the year. The heat in the smoke saunas is intense at the beginning but mellows down towards the evening. A swimsuit is required in public smoke saunas and you should shower before entering the sauna. Since a sauna is a place to relax and enjoy yourself, let’s make sure to keep the discussion calm and quiet. The sauna is also an alcohol-free zone; water is a good choice of drink.
Smoke sauna ticket bracelets can be purchased from the café in the Kuusijärvi main building.
Sauna tickets cannot be purchased online and sauna time slots cannot be pre-booked. The smoke saunas are very popular so you may occasionally have to queue for tickets or experience delays in getting into the sauna. The smoke saunas are less busy in the afternoons compared to the evenings.
Smoke sauna Kuusi
The smoke sauna has small changing rooms and shower facilities for men and women. There is one shower and toilet in the changing rooms. The smoke sauna has small lockers that can be used free of charge to store valuables and clothes for the duration of a sauna visit. There is a pier in front of the sauna. At the end of the pier, the water is two meters deep.
The smoke sauna Kuusi is open daily from 14:00 until 20:30. Sauna ticket bracelets can be purchased from the café in the Kuusijärvi main building.
Small smoke saunas
The two small smoke saunas only have sauna rooms. As the name suggests, small smoke saunas are small saunas where you can also enjoy more intense heat. We recommend using the changing rooms and shower facilities in the main building before proceeding to the smoke sauna. You have to go outside to reach the smoke sauna from the changing rooms, so consider bringing suitable footwear. The main building has lockers that can be used free of charge to store valuables and clothes for the duration of a sauna visit.
The small smoke saunas are open daily from 13:00 until 20:30. Sauna ticket bracelets can be purchased from the café in the Kuusijärvi main building.

The electric saunas are open daily from 9:00 until 20:30. Four public electric saunas are open for everyone every day of the year at Kuusijärvi. The electric saunas are located in the main building. There are separate changing rooms and showers for men and women as well as two electric saunas. The main building has lockers that can be used free of charge to store valuables for the duration of a sauna visit. The beach and ice hole are a short distance away from the electric saunas, so consider bringing suitable footwear.
