Changes in Tikkurilantie traffic arrangements starting April 7, 2026
The foundation work for the Vantaa light rail is progressing on Tikkurilantie. Due to new construction phases, the section between Osmankäämintie and Talvikkitie will be completely closed to through traffic. At the same time, Osmankäämintie will be opened for traffic crossing Tikkurilantie. Vehicles will also be able to cross Tikkurilantie at the intersections of Liljatie, Talvikkitie, and Kielotie.
Construction schedule and noisy work phases
The new traffic arrangements will take effect on April 7, 2026, when the section between Osmankäämintie and Talvikkitie will be closed to through traffic. Vehicles will be able to cross Tikkurilantie at the intersections of Osmankäämintie, Liljatie, and Talvikkitie. The Kielotie intersection will remain in normal use. Noisy work phases in the area include piling, sheet piling, and tamping. Noisy works will mainly be carried out on weekdays, Mon–Fri from 7 to 18 and, if necessary, on Saturdays from 7 to 18. The construction work in the area has been commissioned by the City of Vantaa, and the contractor is Destia.
In addition, we will carry out some other work phases as night work, if necessary for traffic or maintenance reasons. Noisy works at exceptional times will be announced separately. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience
Traffic arrangements from April 7, 2026 onward
The section between Osmankäämintie and Talvikkitie will be closed to through traffic. Vehicles will still be able to cross Tikkurilantie at the intersections of Liljatie and Talvikkitie. In addition, the Osmankäämintie intersection will be opened for crossing traffic. The Kielotie intersection will remain in normal use.
Pedestrian and cycling routes will remain available via designated pathways. Crossing points for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at regular intervals along Tikkurilantie. Street-level maps will guide users to temporary crossings. Bus traffic on Tikkurilantie will continue on a detour via Peltolantie. Please check route-specific details on HSL’s website.
