Drilling and excavation works causing significant noise will begin in June at the southern end of Hakunilantie

Drilling in rock and stone as well as excavation works will begin in June at the southern end of Hakunilantie. The works will cause significant noise in the area. The works will start in week 24 at the location of the future power supply station and will progress in stages northwards along Hakunilantie.

Locations and schedule of drilling and excavation:

  • June–August 2026. Eastern side of Hakunilantie. Location: power supply station area. Drilling and rock excavation. 
  • June–December 2026. Eastern side of Hakunilantie. Location: street widening area. Drilling and rock excavation.

Drilling and excavation works causing significant noise will be carried out on weekdays between 7:00 and 18:00.

Impact on traffic during excavation

Traffic will be temporarily stopped during excavation-related operations for safety reasons. The duration of each traffic interruption will be a maximum of 8 minutes. Before these operations, an audible warning signal will be given in the area.

Vibration monitoring

Vibrations caused by excavation works will be monitored on site by a consultant specializing in such operations. Vibration meters will be installed in selected nearby properties defined by the consultant. The owners or operators of these properties have been contacted separately regarding the installation of the meters.
