Night-time rock excavation works began beneath tracks 5 and 6 at Tikkurila station in mid-August. Most of the excavation has now been completed but works will continue occasionally. The night work is expected to be completed during the week starting 7 September, although it may continue until the end of the month if required under the noise permit.

The work has been delayed by activities such as rock reinforcement, extending the schedule beyond what was previously announced. Night-time blasting will continue within the previously communicated time windows, although timings may occasionally vary due to railway operations.

Once the night-time excavation work is completed, noisy work will continue during normal working hours throughout September. These are weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and for justified reasons until 8 p.m. According to current plans, excavation works will also be carried out beneath tracks 1–4, but these are intended to take place during daytime hours. We will provide separate updates on excavation works in other areas. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Tikkurila station and all services in the area remain open throughout the construction period. Earplugs are available from Tikkurila Library if required. The works have been commissioned by the City of Vantaa and are carried out by Destia.
