Rajatie will be closed to motor vehicle traffic starting 11.5.
Motor vehicle traffic on Rajatie will be cut off over a distance of approximately 40 metres east of the Rajapolku intersection in order to prevent through traffic. The closed section of the street will be converted into a route for pedestrians and cyclists.
Information about the closure of Rajatie
The purpose of the closure is to prevent the increase in traffic volumes resulting from the construction of the Vantaa Light Rail and to improve traffic safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The impacts of the interrupted street connection will be monitored closely throughout the construction period to enable quick responses to any necessary adjustments. The arrangement is expected to remain in place until spring 2028.
Traffic arrangements
The changed traffic connections will be clearly marked on site with signs and traffic control devices, and they will also be available in the City of Vantaa’s map service. The section to be closed to motor vehicle traffic is indicated on the map below.
