Repair work at Hakunila Swimming Hall and the Vetokannas winter swimming place, Korso Swimming Hall to close next spring
The Vetokannas winter swimming place and Hakunila Swimming Hall’s teaching pool will be renovated during the fall. Korso Swimming Hall will close at the end of March 2027.

Dredging at the Vetokannas winter swimming place
The bottom of the Vetokannas winter swimming place will be dredged during the end of the year. The work will begin in October at the earliest. The start date and duration of the work will be announced on the winter swimming place’s website after the schedule has been confirmed.
You can swim at Vetokannas until the dredging work begins. During the dredging, only the site's personnel will have access to the area.
Due to the dredging, no new keys to the changing room of Vetokannas beach will be sold, and customers’ keys will not be given access for fall 2026. Information about use during the spring season will be provided after the schedule for the work has been confirmed.
Hakunila Swimming Hall’s teaching pool and women's steam sauna are out of service
Hakunila Swimming Hall’s teaching pool is closed until further notice due to tiling work being carried out at the pool. According to the current estimate, the renovation of the pool will be completed in December 2026. The other pools of Hakunila Swimming Hall will be available as usual during the renovation.
During the renovation, families with children are advised to take advantage of other swimming halls in Vantaa. Sports Services’ swimming instruction for children will be arranged at Tikkurila Swimming Hall during the renovation.
The women’s steam sauna at Hakunila Swimming Hall is out of service until further notice. Repairing the sauna will require extensive structural changes. Their implementation has not yet been decided.
Korso Swimming Hall to close in March – Elmo Swimming Hall to open in the summer
Korso Swimming Hall will close on March 31, 2027. The swimming hall has reached its end of life, and it will be closed as part of the city’s savings actions.
The new Elmo Swimming Hall will open in north-east Vantaa, between Korso and Koivukylä, in summer 2027. Elmo will be the largest swimming hall in Vantaa and one of the largest in Finland. It will replace the Korso Swimming Hall's services in the area.
The new hall will include, among other things, a 50-meter main pool, a teaching pool, children's pool, water slide, gym and group exercise facility.
