Vantaa Light Rail Work Site to Expand on Kielotie in April
Construction of the Vantaa tram is progressing on Kielotie. After Easter, starting on April 7, the construction site will expand southward from Unikkotie to Neilikkatie. Motor vehicle traffic will be removed from this section of Kielotie, and alternative driving routes will be via Talvikkitie and Ratatie. Through traffic on Unikkotie will remain open throughout the entire tram construction period.
The pedestrian and cycling route will remain on the eastern side of Kielotie between Unikkotie and Neilikkatie. On the western side, pedestrian access and an accessible route to the commercial premises along Kielotie—such as restaurant Zilla—will be provided. Restaurants and shops in the area will operate normally throughout the construction period.
Some phases of the work will cause noise. We work on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., and in exceptional cases work may continue until 8 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
