City Executive Board established new Economic Development and Employment division
Vantaa City Executive Board decided in its meeting on October 21 to establish a new economic development and employment division to guide and monitor promotion of the city’s vitality and integration, as well as employment and services for entrepreneurs.
As the responsibility for arranging TE services transfers from the state to the municipalities as of January 1, 2025, the City of Vantaa will become an employment area of its own. In its meeting on October 21, the city executive board ratified the alterations to the management charter required by the change. The alterations to the management charter will enter into force on January 1, 2025.
The employment and integration service area continues to be responsible for Vantaa’s employment and integration services, but its tasks will be revised to comply with the new legislative tasks.
Successful outcome to negotiations on continuing DigiOne project
In addition, the meeting approved the changed agreement on the DigiOne project, as well as the delivery contract concerning ICT development.
The project aims to create a digital platform that combines different learning and education systems. The purpose of the digital platform is to grow into a national educational digital ecosystem. Vantaa acts as the project's host municipality.
Local detailed plans for Onnenkivi and Muura submitted to city council's approval
The city executive board also decided to submit the local detailed plan and the alteration to the local detailed plan for Onnenkivi in Kivistö to the city council’s approval.
The local detailed plan will expand downtown Kivistö to the south of the Ring Rail Line and enable services and homes for approximately 800 residents. The plan aims to build a lively and urban downtown where pedestrians and greenness are emphasized.
The city executive board also decided to submit the alteration to the local detailed plan for Muura to the city council's approval.
The local detailed plan covers the western city blocks of Muura with their commercial services, two residential city blocks, Muura’s comprehensive school, daycare center and sports hall, part of Aurtuapuisto, as well as square and street areas.
