Changes to multilingual guidance service in Vantaa from January 7, 2026
Multilingual counseling guides and advises multilingual residents of Vantaa in everyday matters. From the beginning of 2026, multilingual counseling will be available in Vantaa without appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Certain service languages are available by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition, interpretation services are available whenever needed.
Multilingual advice helps you understand the Finnish service system
Multilingual advice is intended especially for non-Finnish speakers living in Vantaa who have recently moved to Finland. However, everyone is welcome to use the service, regardless of how long they have lived in Finland or what their background is.
The aim of the guidance is to support the integration of non-Finnish speakers in Vantaa and to facilitate their access to services and reliable information. The guidance service provides help and guidance on how to conduct business independently.
Multilingual guidance provides guidance and advice on matters such as:
- job-seeking and studying
- official services and understanding decisions
- filling out forms
- digital services
- moving to Vantaa and living in Vantaa
- hobbies and leisure time.
Multilingual counseling experts are available in Vantaa without an appointment in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Other languages used by experts (Estonian, Russian, Somali, Dari, Farsi, Albanian, Ukrainian, Italian, and Arabic) are available on a varying basis and by appointment. Telephone interpreting is also always available.
Multilingual counseling experts will no longer be available at International House Helsinki as of January 2, 2026. International House Helsinki will serve customers as normal.

The experts serve in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Other service languages are available to varying degrees. We can always provide telephone interpretation, too.

The experts will serve by appointment in the following languages: Finnish, Swedish, English, Estonian, Russian, Somali, Dari, Farsi, Albanian, Ukrainian, Italian, and Arabic. When required, we will use an interpreter.
