After-school, club and hobby activities
Primary schools around Vantaa offer after-school activities as well as club activities. There are also day and holiday activities for disabled children.
After school activities in basic education
Before- and after-school activities are meant for students in grades 1 and 2, as well as for students in other grades whose decision on support specifies:
- instruction by a special needs teacher or special class teacher in a small group or
- instruction by a special class teacher in a special-education class.
The city coordinates the activities, while the clubs are maintained by private actors, the congregation, as well as organizations and associations.
Club activities
School clubs are usually held after school days, at the school or in nearby premises. Instructors include teachers, youth workers, employees of sports services, and instructors of different organizations and clubs.
Clubs are free and voluntary for students. Students can participate in the planning and development of their own school's club activities through the school's student union, for example.Through club activities, students also have the opportunity to explore various hobbies.

Day and holiday activities for disabled children
Day activities for children with intellectual disabilities are offered at all schools providing education for disabled children. All students of education groups for the disabled can apply for the activities.
