Etappi operations offer strong, multidisciplinary support for 1st-6th grade students whose behavioural or emotional difficulties or similar challenges prevent schooling or make it essentially more difficult. Etappi operations allow the students to practise their role, social skills, emotional control and group behaviour in addition to the school subjects studied.

Etappi's working methods include outreach support in the student's own local school and group-form teaching in an Etappi class. The w…orking methods will be chosen case-specifically.

Over the course of the Etappi period, the overall situation of the student’s schooling will be assessed, and the necessary support measures will be planned and implemented. The period is fixed term, and its duration will be reassessed over the course of the period.

The objectives are to organise pedagogic support measures for the student; assess the potential need for examinations, treatment and social support; promote network cooperation, and reinforce the competence of the student’s local school. A multidisciplinary team is in charge of the operations. In addition to the teaching staff, it includes workers from social and healthcare services.
