Vantaa in the future: making innovation a reality
Vantaa's current strategy extends to 2025, with the aim of being a relaxed, bold and welcoming city that leads the way in sustainability.
Vantaa's strategy is implemented through, among other things, progressive flagship projects. Vantaa has a number of nationally advanced projects underway that are transforming the way cities deliver well-being to their residents.
An urban culture house is currently being planned for Myyrmäki.
It will renew the urban lifestyle and bring together the city's different actors, from libraries to art institutions, from adult education to youth spaces and from events to leisure activities.
The Lake Kuusijärvi recreation area will be developed into a nationally rare accessible natural area. Here you can enjoy accessible traditional Finnish experiences such as lake and open water swimming, campfire coffee and a smoke sauna.
The Lake Kuusijärvi area will be developed in a nature-friendly way. The ecological sustainability of the area will be ensured by building solutions that can be learned from elsewhere.
Between 2024 and 2027, the Tikkurila Competence Campus will become a unique competence campus. It will bring together different actors such as learners, companies, employees and employers.
The campus will create a common platform for continuous skills development and strengthen bridges between private and public actors. The project aims to generate more vitality and prosperity by, among other things, improving employment and business conditions, upgrading the skills of workers.
It will also reduce inequalities and segregation by increasing skills and networking.
The Vantaa Light Rail will create new mobility networks and serve the entire metropolitan area. Extensive and efficient transport connections have always brought well-being and vitality to Vantaa.
The rapid transit line will bring new mobility opportunities to the eastern districts and open up new routes for the city's growth and development.
