The Wellbeing Plan 2023-2025 aims to promote the wellbeing of all city residents
The City of Vantaa has prepared a Wellbeing Plan for 2023-2025. The strategic objectives of the plan are to promote the wellbeing of Vantaa residents and narrow the wellbeing gap, strengthen the sense of security and ensure smooth services together with the wellbeing services county and other partners.
As a result of the welfare region reform, social and health services and rescue services were transferred to the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county from the beginning of 2023. However, the work of promoting wellbeing and health in the City of Vantaa will continue.
Education, training, culture, sport, promoting inclusion and community, a safe living environment − these are some of the themes within which the municipality works on wellbeing.
The new wellbeing plan makes visible how the municipality promotes the wellbeing and health of its residents, both independently and in cooperation with organisations and other partners and the wellbeing services county. The plan describes the cityʼs wellbeing services and identifies measures and concrete actions to which the city will pay particular attention in its wellbeing work between 2023 and 2025.
The plan is divided into three age-specific sections: children and young people, working age and young adults, and older people. For each age group, 10 common actions have been identified (see list below), which will be further elaborated in the plan for each age group into separate concrete actions.
Measures of the Wellbeing Plan 2023−2025:
- Strengthen residentsʼ ability to work and function through comprehensive services.
- Strengthen the mental wellbeing of residents.
- We support healthy lifestyles.
- Strengthen wellbeing through physical activity and culture throughout the life cycle.
- We support opportunities for residents and communities so that no one is left alone.
- Promote the experience of inclusion and community.
- Encourage citizens to take care of their shared environment.
- We promote a sense of security and equality.
- Maintain and promote the skills of local people and provide a wide range of education and training opportunities for all ages.
- Strengthen the confidence and inclusion of non-native speakers by providing language training and promoting intercultural understanding.
- The background information for the Vantaa Wellbeing Plan is based on the Well-being Report and Reviews 2020-2022, and is influenced by statutory entries and comments and suggestions from lobbying bodies, organisations and citizens.
Vantaaʼs Welbeing Plan 2023-2025 includes the student wellbeing plans of education providers as statutory annexes. In addition, a disability policy programme will be included in the plan at the end of 2023.
