Work Causing Elevated Noise Levels to Begin on Länsimäentie

Sheet Piling and Pile Driving Works on the Western Side of Länsimäentie

Sheet piling works will begin in week 44 on Länsimäentie near the intersection of Keihästie and Pallastunturintie. During sheet piling, steel support structures are installed into the ground to enable excavation work to be carried out safely and to support the soil during construction.

Following the sheet piling works, pile driving will commence in the area. During this phase, piles will be installed into the ground to strengthen the soil foundation. Both work phases are required for the future construction of water supply infrastructure.

Sheet piling and pile driving are construction activities that generate elevated noise levels in the surrounding area. These noise-producing works will be carried out in stages over several months as construction progresses. The duration of the work will depend on local ground conditions, which will become clearer as the works advance.

The approximate location of the works is shown on the attached map.

Work phases causing elevated noise levels will be carried out on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Vibration Monitoring

Vibrations caused by the construction works will be monitored on-site by a specialist consultant. Vibration monitoring devices will be installed at selected nearby properties identified by the consultant. The owners or operators of these properties have been contacted separately regarding the installation of the monitoring equipment.
