Progress of construction

Information will be updated as construction progresses. The preliminary schedule may change due to weather conditions, for example.

April–June 2026

• Preparatory work for the new bridge over Porvoonväylä will be carried out both on the roadside and on the carriageway.
• At the northern end of Länsimäentie, relocation work will be carried out for municipal infrastructure, including water pipelines, gas, and electricity.
• Minor changes will be made to the traffic lanes on Länsimäentie, resulting in reduced speed limits in the area.
• The section of Länsimäentie between Rajakentäntie and Keihästie will be closed to traffic on Monday, April 20. The road will be closed במהלך the day, and traffic will be diverted via Pallastunturintie. The arrangement also applies to bus routes that previously operated along Länsimäentie. The section will remain closed and the diversion route in use until September 2027. Actual construction in the area will begin if the City of Vantaa’s Committee approves the agreements for the alliance’s second implementation phase in April.

Noisy work in April 2026

• Near the bridge over Porvoonväylä, sheet pile wall construction and blasting work will begin on April 14, 2026.
