Reports on the Kivistö event arena’s financial arrangements and land use analyses have been completed
Vantaa’s new City Executive Board assembled for its first meeting on June 18. In the meeting, the City Executive Board entered for information the reports on the Kivistö event arena and hotel's financial arrangements and land use analyses. In addition, the Vantaa light rail’s local detailed plans and plan alterations were submitted for the City Council’s approval.
The City Executive Board approved Arena 3.3 Oy’s land rent agreements and preliminary property sales agreements in December 2024. At this time, the City Executive Board decided that the agreements could only be signed after the land use analyses and project financing solutions required by the City Executive Board were completed and presented to the City Executive Board. The reports have now been completed, and they have been entered for information by the City Executive Board. The land rent agreement and preliminary property sales agreement drafted together with Arena 3.3 Oy can be signed once the project’s funding has been secured and the City Executive Board has received the report on the funding to be realized.
The Arena 3.3 project in Kivistö includes a multipurpose arena and hotel as well as restaurant, business, sports and office facilities. When realized, the project will be a significant attraction project for the City of Vantaa. It will also be of national significance for the organization of everything from international sports events to different kinds of cultural events, such as concerts.
The Vantaa light rail’s local detailed plan and plan alterations are used to prepare for the Vantaa light rail by designating sufficient space for different forms of traffic and the street environment, as well as for functions relating to the light rail in Länsimäki, Vaarala, Rajakylä and Länsimäentie. The reserved spaces in the local detailed plan are based on street plan proposals for the light rail.
