Vantaa welcomes everyone to its public children’s cultural performances. Cultural experiences are also available for learners and students.

During the 2026 fall season, Vantaa's three children's cultural centers will be filled with colorful children’s culture and art. The program consists of festivals and theme weeks, concerts, theater performances and, of course, myriad workshops bolstering children’s own artistic performances.

Children’s Cultural Center Pessi turns 40 and other highlights of the program

An international touch will be added to the fall season through the unique, multicultural Kolibri Festival, celebrated in September. The festival, which will spread throughout the metropolitan area, will take place in Vantaa on Saturday, September 26. The free-of-charge day offers plenty to do, for example, in Spanish, Swahili, Portuguese, and Italian. All activities can also be enjoyed in Finnish or English.

November will celebrate the Children's rights week whose 2026 theme is “Every child is valuable.” Throughout the week, families, early childhood education groups, and school classes can participate in activities related to the theme.

A shared point of pride for Vantaa’s Cultural Services for Children and the Young in 2026 is the 40th anniversary of Pessi, Finland’s first children’s cultural center.  Anniversary programs will be offered throughout the fall season.  The Synttärit! (“Birthday Celebration!”) exhibition will be open every Tuesday and every Friday, as well as during Pessi’s evening and weekend events.

Program is offered also on weekends and during vacations

The monthly Lasten lauantait (“Children's Saturdays”) events will continue in all children’s cultural centers. In addition, artshops will take place all over the city during vacations.
