Construction of the light rail on Tikkurilantie
Follow the progress of light rail construction between Veromies and Tikkurila. In the future, the light rail will run along Tikkurilantie, passing through the Annefred, Koivuhaka, and Viertola, ending at the old silk factory of Tikkurila.
The construction sites on Tikkurilantie are in the areas of Annefred, Koivuhaka and Viertola, ending near the old silk factory of Tikkurila.

June–September 2026
In the eastern section of Tikkurilantie between Puutarhatie and Kielotie:
- Construction of the pile slab: excavation, piling, reinforcement, and concrete works
- Pipe works, kerbstone installation, asphalting, street lighting works
October–December 2026
According to current plans, the aim is to reopen Tikkurilantie between Kuriirikuja and Osmankäämintie to vehicle traffic in November of 2026. Following that, Tikkurilantie between Osmankäämintie and Talvikkitie is scheduled to be reopened to vehicle traffic in later December 2026.
In the western and central sections of Tikkurilantie, between the Kiitoradantie ramp and Puutarhatie, the following arrangements:
- In October–November, the section between the Kiitoradantie ramp and Kuriirikuja will be closed to through‑traffic. Cross connections via Niittytie and Ohtolankatu will remain open.
- Detour routes via Kuriirikuja–Niittytie–Ilmakehä–Manttaalitie.
- Construction of the Annefred light rail bridge will begin in the Autumn. The work will cause several lane arrangements on Tuusulanväylä.
