Operating periods

• The current operating period ends on 1 June 2025.
• The summer season is from 2 June to 10 August 2025
• The next two operating periodes are from 10 August 2025 to 1 June 2026 and from 10 August 2026 to 30 May 2027 ( Note! the time slots will be granted for the next two operating periodes).

Application periods

Regular time slots will now be applied for in odd-numbered years for two operating periods at a time. The application period for the next two operational periods is the entire month of February. Please submit a usage shift application for the full period from 11 August 2025 to 30 May 2027, even if your activities begin later in the fall. Do not split the application into spring and fall periods. After the decision is made, you can cancel the shifts you do not use. Usage shifts are not accepted for the summer period, so please apply for those separately during the summer shift application period (November).

Submit event applications only for the first operating period (11 August.2025 - 31 May 2026).  Applications for events are submitted annually in February.

The regular time slots used by the Adult Education Centre, institutes for basic education in the arts, and sports services are approved before the February application period. The time slots required for schools’ and daycare centres’ basic activities are also reserved from the booking calendar in advance.

Before submitting your application, check the available time slots in the Timmi booking calendar. The time slots available for application are shown in the booking calendar in white. There are no time slots available on certain midweek holidays. In cases of facilities without a nighttime caretaker, the facilities are made available for application on 1 September.

Submit a separate application for each group. Depending on the intended use, the duration of one time slot is from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Using a single application, only apply for the necessary time slots for the operating period. In the additional information section of the application, you can indicate alternative times or facilities.

Applications received during the application period are processed together and an office-holder decides on them. You will receive the decision by email at the end of June.

You can apply for any remaining unclaimed time slots throughout the entire operating period, starting on the first monday of August at 9:00. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received. When your application is approved, you will be sent a confirmation email.
The application period for the Rajakylä tennis centre for private persons and companies starts on 24 March 2025. Time slots are mainly approved in the order of application, taking into account the efficient use of facilities.

Indoor sports facilities include the gymnasiums of schools, educational institutions and day care centres, swimming halls and sports centres, rock shelters, the Koivukylä senior centre, the Rajakylä tennis centre, Energia Areena and sports facilities of the multi-purpose centre Lumo.

The application period for the summer season is November 1-30. The next summer season begins on June 2, 2025.
The Sports Services service area's regular turns will be approved before the November application period. Before making the application, check out the free times in the Timmi reservation calendar. The times that can be applied for are shown in white in the reservation calendar. 

Make an application of its own for each group. The duration of the turn is, depending on its use, from 30 minutes to three hours. Apply for the turns for the entire summer season on the same application. Do not combine the summer-season application with the operating-period application because the applications for different seasons are handled at different times. You can enter into the Further information field alternative application sites and times.

Applications arrived during the application period will be handled and office-holder's decisions will be made on them. You will get the decision by email at the turn of January-February.

You can apply for the remaining turns after the decision-making process. Applications will be approved in the order of arrival. You will get a reservation confirmation of your approved application by email.

Indoor sports facilities include, among others: schools, educational institutions, daycare centers, swimming halls, sports houses, civil defense shelters, Koivukylä senior citizens' center, Rajakylä tennis center, Energia Areena, and Monitoimikeskus Lumo.

Application for facilities of schools, educational institutions and day care centres, facilities other than sports facilities

You can apply for the available facilities starting on 1 March. Applications are accepted in order of arrival for the summer and the next operating period. You can submit applications throughout the operating period.

Applying for indoor sports facilities for the summer season

You can apply for the available facilities throughout the summer season. As schools and day care centres are closed for the summer holidays, please check with them when the key to the facilities can be picked up. Schools do not have nighttime caretakers during the summer. 

Applying for indoor sports facilities for the next operating period

You can apply for the available facilities starting at 9:00 on 1 August. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received throughout the operating period. 

Applying for youth centres and recreation camps for the next operating period

You can apply for available time slots at recreation camps throughout the current operating period.

Applying for residential activity facilities for the next operating period

You can apply for the available facilities starting on 1 March. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received throughout the operating period.
 

The application period for the summer season is November 1-30. You can apply for turns during the following summer season in the course of the application period through the Timmi reservation system. Applications will be approved in the order of arrival.

Outdoor sports facilities include outdoor sports facilities managed by the Sports Services service area and the Green Area Unit; sand fields, artificial sand-turf fields, grass fields, general sports fields (excluding artificial turf fields) that are chosen in the selection meeting.
Only a limited number of turns are allocated for some of the fields. Mainly the fields managed by Sports Services are meant for competitions. Some of the fields can be freely used by the residents (including multi-purpose arenas), and no regular turns of use are granted for them.

Enter into the Further information field all the information that you wish to be accounted for when preparing the distribution of turns, as well as potential competitions that are meant to be arranged during the turns of use. Applications will be handled during the latter part of the year, and the applicants will be sent a decision on them in January.

Apply for the park fields managed by Green Area Unit through the lupapiste service. Register for the system with your bank identifiers or mobile certificate. The turns of use of the park fields are free of charge for Vantaa club activities.

As a rule, the outdoor tennis season begins at the turn of April–May and ends at the end of September. You can pay for reservations by using either an invoice or exercise voucher. If you wish to use an exercise voucher, you can do so at the counters of all indoor swimming pools in Vantaa.

N.B. There will be changes in how reservations of outdoor tennis courts are made in summer 2026. In the future, it will only be possible to reserve individual turns for the courts. This way, more players will have the chance to enjoy playing tennis in the summer. Reservations are paid for immediately in connection with making one.

•    Wed, April 16 at 9:00–16:00 Lipunkantaja and Myyrmäki tennis courts and other courts

During the above application periods, applicants will be granted a regular one-hour turn. You can apply for a reservation through the Timmi reservation calendar. In order to speed up processing, be sure to make only a single hour-long application for the entire season (April 28–Sept 21, 2025). In the additional information field of the application, you can provide alternative times for the court in question. If none of the times you have given are available, you will receive a rejection message to your email. You can also check the status of your application in Timmi under the My Services menu (set the date interval to April 28–Sept 21, 2025, and click search). When the application has been approved, you can also see it in Timmi’s reservation calendar for the court in question. You will also receive a reservation confirmation to your email on the following day if your application is approved.

However, please note that the Timmi reservation system uses strong identification for logging in, meaning that you will need your bank identifiers. Make sure that you are able to log in to Timmi in advance of the application period. The application processors will not be able to address problems related to Timmi once they start approving applications.

All outdoor tennis courts will become available for reservation on Monday, April 28 at 9:00, when it will be possible to apply for regular turns at all outdoor tennis courts for the summer.  The application period for full-season permits will end on May 30, and from June 2 onward, it will only be possible to reserve individual turns for the courts. Individual tennis court reservations are made through Timmi’s Book and Pay feature. When you have chosen the time you wish to reserve, select the reservation method: Individual reservation (payment method: online payment)

Regular/individual reservations which have been paid for or invoiced cannot be canceled. Unused turns due to weather conditions or any other reason will not be refunded.

Full-season and individual turn fees
Turns on the tennis courts are reserved for the entire season at once. The full-season fee entitles you to an hour-long turn once a week. Please note that you can only apply for a one-hour turn in one application. If your application is for several hours, a turn will be granted for the first available hour. Reservations must begin on the hour. Turns are invoiced to customers in May.
•    Asphalt €33/hour/season
•    Artificial turf €75/hour/season
•    Artificialt turf Individual turn €11/hour
•    Asphalt Individual turn €5/hour
The fees include VAT 14%.

Paying a tennis permit invoice
You can pay a tennis permit invoice by using an exercise voucher or other similar payment method at the counter of any indoor swimming pool after receiving the invoice. The invoice must be given at the counter in connection with payment. N.B.! The receipt of the paid invoice must read “VIITELASKU”. This way, the invoice will be automatically removed from the accounts ledger, and the invoice receipt/invoice paid for using an exercise voucher no longer needs to be submitted to the Sports Services service area office.

Means of payment:
Smartum exercise and cultural voucher, Smartum balance, Virikeseteli, Tyky exercise voucher, Tyky-Online, ePassi, Edenred (Ticket Duo), Ticket Mind&Body voucher and Eazybreak mobile voucher.
Please keep in mind that the vouchers are personal.

Take the order confirmation with you when you go and play tennis
The order confirmation acts as a certificate of your reservation. You can save it on your phone or print it out and use it to prove your reservation. The Timmi reservation system now also works on mobile phones, meaning that you can prove your reservation by logging in to Timmi and selecting the tennis court in question. N.B. The calendar reservations only show the name of the person who is logged in. It is not possible to view the names of other private persons in connection with reservations through Timmi.

Outdoor tennis reservation practices
•    You can play free of charge on available outdoor tennis courts in the order of arrival, if no one with a regular turn is present. You can play on the court for up to an hour at a time. However, if there is no one with a regular turn at the court and no one else is waiting for a turn, you can play for longer.
•    A regular turn guarantees that you will have a one-hour turn for the entire season. Turns start on the hour.
•    Individual turns for the courts are granted starting from the first Monday of June.

Note! Regular time slots will now be applied for in odd-numbered years for two operating periods at a time. 

For sports organisations, the application period for time slots is the entire month of February.

The application period for other parties (companies, individuals) begins on 24 March at 9:00. Applications are mainly accepted in the order of application, taking into account the efficient use of facilities.

Time slots are applied for for the period 11 August.2025 to - 30.May.2027

Applicants will be sent an officer-holder’s decision on the time slots during spring.

The application period for summer time slots is 1–28 February. The summer season is from 29 April to 4 August 2024
The facilities for which you can apply for summer season time slots through Timmi during the application period include

• Myyrmäki ice rinks 1 and 2
• Tikkurila training hall
• Tikkurila Arena

The application period for the operating period (autumn–spring) is 1–31 March.

Vantaa Adult Education Centre, Music Institute, Vantaa Art School, as well as institutions for basic education in the arts apply for facilities for the summer and the next operating period at the start of January. The applications are accepted in the booking calendar on Timmi during January.

The application period for unclaimed facilities is in February. Time slots for the summer (from early June to mid-August) and the next operating period (from mid-August to early June) can also be applied for.

From the start of March, unclaimed time slots for the summer and next operating period can be applied for. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received.

The application period for permanent time slots at residential activity facilities for the next operating period is 1–28 February. Time slots are granted for the period 1 August 2024–31 July 2025. Unclaimed time slots can be applied for throughout the operating period, starting on 1 March. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received.

There are three children’s cultural centres in Vantaa: Children’s Cultural Centre Pessi in Tikkurila, Children’s Cultural Centre Toteemi in Myyrmäki and Children’s Cultural Centre Pyykkitupa in Hakunila.
The facilities of the children’s cultural centres are primarily available for children’s cultural activities before any other activities. In a competitive situation, the granting of a time slot is decided in favour of local activities and activities that support the purpose of the centres.
The application period for permanent time slots at children’s cultural centres for the next operating period is 1–28 February 2024. Time slots are granted for the period 1 August 2024–31 May 2025. The time slots are applied for through Timmi.
Unclaimed time slots can be applied for throughout the operating period, starting on 1 March. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received. More information about the facilities: pessi@vantaa.fi, toteemi@vantaa.fi ja pyykkitupa@vantaa.fi.

The current operating period of youth centres ends on 31 May 2025.

The application period for the permanent time slots at youth centres is 1–28 February 2025 for the operating period 2025–2026. Time slots at youth centres are granted for the period 1 September 2025–31 May 2026, and no external time slots are granted for schools’ holiday periods and mid-week holidays. Unclaimed time slots at youth centres can be applied for throughout the operating period.

Recreation camps’ current operating period

Kukonnotko Recreation Camp 1 January 2025–31 December 2025, Palajärvi Recreation Camp 15 May 2025–15 September 2025. The time slots at youth centres shown as available can be applied for throughout the current 2024 operating period. 

The application period for the 2026 time slots at camp areas is in September–October 2025.
