Reserving facilities and prices
The City of Vantaa has a wide range of different types of facilities that can be reserved for different activities. You can reserve facilities for sports, hobby activities, camps, celebrations, meetings, training courses and different kinds of events. You can apply for either individual time slots or regular reservations through the facility reservation system Timmi.
Please apply for times slots primarily during the application periods and apply for either individual or regular time slots. Once the application period has ended and a decision on your application has been made, you can apply for any still unclaimed time slots throughout the operating period.
The main user groups of the facilities are sports clubs and organisations, but companies and private individuals can also apply for them. As a rule, facilities are applied for through the reservation system Timmi. As a customer registered in the system, you can submit applications and cancel your reservations within the cancellation times. Reservations are always shown in real time on the booking calendar. You can also view the reservation status of different facilities without logging in.
Instructions for applying for time slots
Apply for a time slot no later than 7 days in advance. In cases of facilities with a nighttime caretaker, you can apply for a time slot no later than 17 days in advance.
If you need the facilities for overnight accommodation, you should submit your application at least one month in advance. If you are organising a large-scale event, keep in mind that the processing of your application might take even longer.
Submit a separate application for each group according to what they intend to do in the facilities. For example: "Volleyball, P08". In sports use, the duration of one time slot is from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the sport being practised. Gymnastic classes are usually up to one hour long, ball sports from one hour to one and a half.
Before submitting your application, check the available time slots on Timmi. The time slots available for application are shown in the calendar in white.
Please indicate the estimated number of participants in your application. Applications without the number of participants will not be accepted. Please enter in the additional information section of the application the information you want to be taken into account in the processing of your application.
If there are additional things to be reserved in connection with the facilities (such as a microphone), you can mention this in the additional equipment and services section of the application.
Applications are not processed during weekends or holidays.
Adding the actual number of visitors to the reservation
The City of Vantaa’s recreational facilities will introduce an electronic recording method for the use of time slots on Monday, 2 June 2025. This means that the persons responsible for time slots must record the number of participants in each time slot in the Timmi reservation system.
Please note that the recording method can only be used for reservations made for one group. It does not apply to, for example, multi-hour usage periods by sports clubs, during which multiple groups may use the facility.
Up until now, the persons reserving recreational facilities have recorded the numbers of participants in time slots in journals kept in the facilities. The purpose of the reform is to make the recording of the numbers of users more consistent and to obtain more accurate information on how many people use different facilities.
The recording of actual numbers of users is done on Timmi using a mobile device with location data enabled. When making a record, you must be within 200 metres of the reserved facility, and the record must be made within two hours of the start of the reservation.
Operating periods and application periods
The application for time slots in the indoor sports facilities of Vantaa’s sports services
will be renewed.
From 2025 onwards, regular time slots in the indoor sports facilities of the Sports
Service Area and schools, educational institutions and day care centres will be granted
for two seasons at a time. In the past, time slots were applied for on an annual basis.
One season lasts from autumn to spring.
You can apply for time slots from 1 to 28 February 2025 through the Timmi reservation
system. The time slots will be granted for the seasons 11 August 2025–31 May 2026
and 10 August 2026–30 May 2027.
With the reform of the time slot application, the Sports Service Area aims to better
respond to the wishes of sports clubs. The longer-term allocation of time slots will
make it easier for clubs to plan and anticipate their activities.
Accepting time slots
Applications received during the application periods are processed together and an office-holder decides on them. The decision will be sent to the applicants by email.
Applications received after decision-making will be processed in the order in which they are received. Upon an approved application, you will receive a booking confirmation by email with price information.
