Christmas cards for the elderly – bring joy by sending a card by December 4
The Christmas Cards for the Elderly campaign is again collecting Christmas cards for Home Care and Housing Services’ elderly customers. Bring your Christmas cards to Vantaa's collection points from November 13 to December 4.
Siskot ja Simot (“Sisters and Simons”), a creative caring community, arranges the campaign together with their partners. More than 80 localities all over Finland participate in the campaign whose protector is President Sauli Niinistö.
“By sending a Christmas card you can make an elderly person think that he or she has been in somebody's thoughts. A small card may bring joy for a long while,” says Eero Väisänen, operative manager of Sisters and Simons.
This is how you participate
Anybody can participate in the campaign. Make a Christmas card and bring it to the nearest collection point from November 13 to December 4, 2023.
- Write the Christmas card (make one by yourself or fill out an already printed card).
- Write your Christmas greetings, enter “To you” in the recipient field and your own name as well as Sisters and Simons in the sender field. For example: “Merry Christmas! From Sisters and Simons and Tuutikki.”
- Take the card as it is to the nearest collection box. Do not put the card in an envelope.
In Vantaa, cards are also made in Christmas card workshops. Christmas card workshops are arranged at citizens' houses according to the following schedule:
