High-noise work continues on Kyytitie between Santaradantie and Kanervatie
Rock excavation work at the construction site on Kyytitie between Santaradantie and Kanervatie has been largely completed. However, we may need to carry out work on individual days if additional rock areas requiring excavation or breaking are identified as the project progresses. In addition, rock reinforcement work on the excavated rock will begin during week 28. The purpose of the reinforcement is to prevent loose stones and rock blocks from falling.
Excavation and Rock Breaking Work between Santaradantie and Kanervatie
Schedule: July 2026 – October 2026
Excavation and rock breaking work will be carried out on individual working days as needed if rock areas requiring further excavation are identified during the progress of the work.
Rock Reinforcement Work
Schedule: July 2026
Estimated duration: Approximately seven working days
The reinforcement work is being carried out to prevent loose stones and rock blocks from falling. The work will take place within the area marked on the attached map.
Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Impact of Blasting on Traffic
For safety reasons, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be temporarily stopped during blasting operations. Traffic interruptions will last no longer than 8 minutes at a time.
Before each blast, an audible warning signal will be given in the area to alert people of the upcoming blast.
Vibration Monitoring
Vibrations caused by the excavation and blasting work are monitored by a consultant specializing in blasting operations. Vibration monitoring devices will be installed at locations identified by the consultant in the surrounding area. Property owners and operators at these locations have been contacted separately regarding the installation of the monitoring equipment.
