The Vantaa light rail worksite expands to the Silvastintie intersection
Construction of the Vantaa light rail began on Osuustie in the spring. So far, the worksite on Osuustie has been located between Virkatie and Antaksentie. According to current plans, it will expand to the Silvastintie intersection during the week starting 5 October.

Construction of the Vantaa light rail began on Osuustie in the spring. Ground improvement works and municipal engineering relocations have been carried out in the area. So far, the worksite on Osuustie has been located between Virkatie and Antaksentie. Next, the worksite will expand southwards to the intersection with Silvastintie. K-Rauta and other services in the area remain open as normal.
According to current plans, the worksite will expand during the week starting 5 October. Pedestrian and cycling access will be maintained throughout the construction period. At this stage, the roadway will be narrowed at the new worksite area, but traffic will continue to be permitted in both directions. The worksite is expected to expand south of the Silvastintie intersection later this year. We will provide separate updates on these works.
Some phases of the work will cause intermittent noise. Noisy work is carried out on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. For example, municipal engineering works may require activities to continue until 8 p.m. The works have been commissioned by the City of Vantaa and are carried out by Destia. We apologise for any inconvenience. According to current plans, the worksite will be completed during the winter of 2027–2028.
