The City of Vantaa participates in celebrating Children’s Rights Week on November 17–23, 2025. All the children have the right to connect with their community and society, and the right to be heard. During the week, Vantaa arranges myriad programs and events, targeted at children, the young, and families.

Children’s Rights Week is celebrated every year in November, around the international Children’s Rights Day. The City of Vantaa participates in celebrating Children’s Rights Week on November 1723, 2025.

This year's theme – every child's right to belong – has two meanings. All the children have the right to connect with their community and society, and they also have the right to be not only seen but also heard.

During the week, Vantaa will host a wide range of programs and events for children, young people, and families.

During the week, Vantaa arranges myriad programs and events, targeted at children, the young, and families.

Children and the young can participate in the events, for example, in daycare centers, schools, youth centers, libraries, and children’s cultural centers.

On Children’s Rights Day, November 20, children and the mayor of Vantaa will together raise the flag in front of City Hall.

Vantaa is a child-friendly city

The City of Vantaa is one of UNICEF’s Child Friendly Cities.

The Child Friendly City model helps municipalities to make right solutions—from the perspective of children—in municipal administration and services, as well as in the everyday lives of children. The model is based on the United Nations’ (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child.
