Construction of the light rail on Länsimäentie
Follow the progress of light rail construction from Fazerila to Mellunmäki. In the future, the light rail will run along Länsimäentie to the Mellunmäki metro station.
The construction sites on Länsimäentie are in the areas of Vaarala and Länsimäki, near Rajakylä.

November–December 2026
- At the northern end of Länsimäentie, relocation works for municipal infrastructure, water pipelines, gas and electricity are being carried out, resulting in minor changes to traffic lanes.
- Construction work on the bridge crossing Porvoonväylä is underway.
Noisy work in November–December 2026
- Sheet piling and pile driving works that cause particularly high levels of noise will be carried out at and near the intersection of Keihästie and Länsimäentie starting in October 2026. The works are estimated to last a few months.
- Sheet piling works will begin near the bridge crossing Porvoonväylä, and blasting work is also underway in the surrounding area.

You will receive information about possible water supply cuts and disturbances in water supply directly from Helsinki Region Environmental Services. HSY will inform about outages on their website, via text messages and paper notifications.
