General upper secondary education in Vantaa
In Vantaa, general upper secondary education is provided in six Finnish-speaking general upper secondary day schools, one Swedish-speaking general upper secondary school, Vantaa general upper secondary school for adults and the Sotunki general upper secondary school's adult studies (remote studies).
Guidance counselling
Guidance counselling supports students to make decisions and choices related to their daily life, studies, future education and future based on their own capabilities, values, backgrounds and interests.
Learning languages in basic education
In Vantaa, students take English as their A1 language and Swedish as their B1 language. Optional language studies can begin in the 4th grade (A2 language) or in the 8th grade (B2 language).
Swedish language immersion
Swedish language immersion begins in early childhood education or pre-primary education and lasts until the end of basic education.
Preparatory teaching for basic education
Preparatory teaching is provided for children and young people who are not proficient enough in Finnish language to study in a group taught in Finnish.

Weighted-curriculum education in music starts in the third grade and continues throughout basic education even if the school changes in between. Students in weighted-curriculum are interested in music and have the prerequisites to study music.

Etappi operations in Basic education (1-6)
Etappi operations offer strong, multidisciplinary support for 1st-6th grade students whose behavioural or emotional difficulties or similar challenges prevent schooling or make it essentially more difficult.
