Wilma – communication between home and the school
In Vantaa, the Wilma application is used for cooperation between the home and the school.
In Wilma the caretakers can see:
- The timetables of their child
- In-class notifications and test results
- Assessment and evaluation information
- Notifications about support, notes and documents regarding the school
Wilma’s most common functions also work in the mobile app, which you can start using after logging in. Using Wilma, the guardians can follow the pupil’s educational advance, notify of and clarify the pupil’s absences, update your own and the pupil’s contact information, message with teachers and other staff, and read school notifications, among other things.
Through Wilma, you can fill out various applications related to students, such as absence, school transportation, and after-school club application. Through Wilma, you can also apply for weighted-curriculum education, such as English-language education, Montessori education, language immersion education, and weighted-curriculum education in music.
The guardians can inform their phone numbers and email addresses through Wilma. The guardians’ names and address information are entered into Wilma from the population information system (DVV). If there are errors in the data, you must always contact DVV (The Finnish Digital and Population Data Services Agency) for correcting the errors.Go to DVV's website.

Creating a guardian's Wilma log in
When creating an account, log in to Wilma using a web browser (not the mobile application).
Create a Wilma identifier with the help of suomi.fi authentication. To create the identifier, you need a bank identifier/mobile ID and email address, which will function as your Wilma user identifier in the future. If you cannot use strong identification, your child's school will give you a key code to create the identifier.

Why can't I create Wilma identifiers with my online back identifiers?
Adding the role of a guardian through the suomi.fi authentication service is completely blocked if the student or guardian has an order of non-disclosure or an agreement on the dependent's care arrangements. In these cases, the guardian will get a key code for logging in Wilma at a Vantaa-Info, from the future school (if known), or by sending email to: primuswilmatuki@vantaa.fi
Wilma identifier cannot be found or the password is incorrect?
Each municipality has its own Wilma login address. Make sure that you tried to log in the City of Vantaa's Wilma, address: https://vantaa.inschool.fi?
Which school shall I choose, when creating a Wilma identifier?
You can choose any school. The selection will not impact the decision on the local school.
Why can I see my spouse's name while using my own Wilma identifier?
If you used the identifiers of a joint bank account when creating the Wilma identifier, the Wilma identifier will show the name of the principal holder of the bank account. In these cases, contact primuswilmatuki@vantaa.fi
Why doesn't the key code function?
You can only use the key code once; it will no longer function after you have created the Wilma identifier.

Where on Wilma can I find a form on which I can enroll my child in school?
You will find the enrollment form under “Lomakkeet” at Wilma's top bar. The forms may also be found under three dots.
Why did I receive the notification of compulsory education in Swedish though my child's mother tongue is Finnish?
If the child's mother tongue is Swedish or if the child attends Swedish-language preschool, the notification of compulsory education will be given in Swedish. Others will receive a Finnish-language notification.

For new students the Wilma user profiles are not in use during February and March
For technical reasons the Wilma user profiles of the caretakers are not in use when the decisions about local schools are being made. The user profiles become available again after the 27th of March 2025 after the local school decisions are released in Wilma.
